Expect and Accept

Are you kind to yourself? Chances are you’ve already subconsciously created expectations for yourself and your family and friends this Christmas. That’s great! But… You won’t meet all of those expectations and neither will the people around you.

The good news is, Jesus makes up for all that you lack and all that they lack too. This is grace. This is why Jesus came … To bring redemption to every human heart. We all need grace.

We experience grace by practicing self-compassion.

  1. Be kind to yourself

  2. Accept that you are human. Mistakes and missteps are a part of life.

  3. Be mindful and choose to think on what is true

Research shows that people who consistently practice self-compassion are able to change, grow and adapt with ease because they are not striving for perfection. As Christians, when we practice accepting God’s grace for ourselves, and offer it to others, our expectations become more flexible and understanding makes room for growth.

This Christmas, you can:

  1. Expect amazing things

  2. Accept that it will not be perfect.

The cracks, confrontations and messy moments allow the grace of Jesus to spreads over our hearts like healing ointment, bringing newness we never could have imagined. This Christmas, expect, accept and enjoy the grace of World-Changing Jesus.
