Meditation

Zephaniah 3:17

“The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.”

2 Samuel 6:13-15

“When those who were carrying the ark of the Lord had taken six steps, he sacrificed a bull and a fattened calf. Wearing a linen ephod, David was dancing before the Lord with all his might, while he and all Israel were bringing up the ark of the Lord with shouts and the sound of trumpets.”

Prayer

Father,

You are the Most High King, and You have emotions. You grieve and rejoice when there is cause. There is nothing boring or mundane about who You are. You celebrate exuberantly over Your people when You are pleased with us. Like soothing oil on painful wounds, You pour freeing love over us. David understood Your unrestrained and wild passion for the human soul. He responded in an undignified manner and You called him a man after Your heart. Please show me revelation of You; rejoicing God. May I stand undignified in response to Your unrestrained fervency for me.
