Ezekiel 37:4-10
āThen he said to me, āProphesy to these bones and say to them, āDry bones, hear the word of the LORD! This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.'ā So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, there was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. I looked, and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them. Then he said to me, āProphesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to it, āThis is what the Sovereign LORD says: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe into these slain, that they may live.'ā So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet ā a vast army.ā
Prayer
Father,
You alone offer true life. Like bones in the desert, there is nothing I can do to earn true life. A spiritual awakening of the heart is something You give me in your grace. Father, I do not need to plead with You, as if it is not Your desire for me to experience life in the Spirit. You are far more ardent for the health of my soul then I could ever be. You long for me to walk in abundance the very path You have carved for me. Too often, I donāt trust Your path, and choose my own. During these seasons I am deprived of life-giving intimacy with You. Father, help me to keep my feet on the divine trail prepared for me.
