Romans 6:23
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Isaiah 1:17
“Learn to do right; seek justice. Defend the oppressed. Take up the cause of the fatherless; plead the case of the widow.”

Prayer

Father,

I believe You wholeheartedly oppose all injustice. You are perfectly just and cannot act apart from who You are. At times it is difficult for me to trust You when I become focused on dire human circumstances. Tornadoes tear apart cities, children starve and loved ones get sick and even die. However, I am wrong to allow circumstances to distort my view of who You are. You are not an oppressor nor do You author disease, disaster or suffering. In your unimaginable love You made complete payment by Christ’s blood. Your heart longs for deep justice to be administered on earth through the actions of Your people. You have commissioned me to uphold justice for Your sake, please help me to do this today God.
