Your Living Message

Some things are better “felt than telt” the Pastor said on Sunday. This could not be more true.

For example:
No matter the words a mom chooses, girls frequently grow to process the world like their mothers. Similarly, boys reflect the tendencies of their fathers.
When kids feel safe in a classroom they learn better.
When employees feel trusted, motivation is ignited.
Yes, some things are better “felt than telt.”

I first met Carrie and Ralph Peters four years ago when they moved to Saskatoon to join our Elim Church staff. Ralph came on as Community Engagement Pastor and Carrie blazed her trail teaching ESOL in the community of Saskatoon. The two of them have lived and travelled all over the world leading Christian missions and initiatives. Since they announced their decision to trade prairie sunsets for the beauty of British Columbia, there have been several goodbyes, conversations and celebrations. Over and over people are repeating the heartfelt sentiment, Ralph and Carrie, you make people feel so genuinely loved. This is uniquely true of Carrie and Ralph as they live with radical open hearts and generous hands. They are dedicated to love people from every culture, background, race, age, and social bracket – just like Jesus. They are missionaries in the truest sense. Yes, it’s not only about what you  have “telt” during your time in Saskatoon, but what we have all “felt” through you, that has changed us.

Yes, Carrie and Ralph you are Canadian through and through.
All over the world Canadians are known for their hospitality and kindness.
But there is something unique and remarkable about the way you carry love.
Your message is more than words.

Your message is “felt” not just “telt” – and that is what makes your lives catalytic and powerful.
You are a living message.

Your life says this. And your presence exudes this:

“God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” – Romans 5:8

And there is no greater message. There are Mountains of Life-Changing Hope available for every longing heart.

This Canada Day, voices will ring from coast to coast.
Together we will sing: “God Keep Our Land.
As you ask God to keep our land, be reminded of your position in Christ and in Canada – He is asking you to keep His land.

God, Keeper of The Land
Mark Us With Your Love
And Make Us a Living Message

May all the parts of your life play together beautifully this fall as you set goals to flourish in all aspects of your life!

Love,
Kaitlyn
