Meditation

Psalm 29:3-5
“The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord thunders over the mighty waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is majestic. The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.”

Job 26:14
“And these are but the outer fringe of his works; how faint the whisper we hear of him! Who then can understand the thunder of his power?”

Prayer

Father,

Your voice is majestic and my heart shudders at the awesomeness of its sound. The earth shakes at Your word – as You brought all things to be through uttered words. In the midst of the brilliant display of Your voice – You care to speak gently to me. With one word You could push the earth off of its axis and send it flinging into space but instead You speak gentle words of love to me, moment by moment. I hear You in the wonder of a whisper and I believe that You do speak. I believe that You have enabled me to hear Your voice through the Holy Spirit as we are united through Jesus. Thank you for the strength and loveliness of Your voice God.
