Psalm 145:3-9

“Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts. They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty – and I will meditate on your wonderful works. They tell of the power of your awesome works – and I will proclaim your great deeds. They celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness. The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love. The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.”

Prayer

Father,

I believe that You are good. Your heart is gracious and compassionate. Although there are times my emotions doubt Your absolute goodness, in the depth of my spirit I believe that You are who You say You are. Your motives are spectacularly pure and Your essence sides completely with Your people. I believe that You are authoring a mighty tale of redemption on earth, and I am part of Your majestic story. Because I am wholly Yours, You are arranging the details of my life for my good for the good of Your people and for Your glory. Father, I believe that there is no part of You that desires destruction for me, but that You anticipate vivid and lively days for me, as I abide in You, even in the direst of circumstances the goodness of Your Spirit offers joy supernatural and unspeakable.
